Beverage bottling plants

Bottling plants for juices, water and carbonated drinks require high-capacity stainless steel floor drains resistant to sugars, fruit acids and pressurized liquids. B&K GROUP supplies precisely matched drainage systems that integrate with bottling lines. Channels and grates minimize splashes, prevent liquid pooling and allow fast cleaning and maintenance.

Frequently asked questions

Which stainless steel grade performs best for drains in beverage plants exposed to sugars and acids?

For acidic and aggressive environments we recommend V4A (1.4404/AISI 316L). The added molybdenum provides superior resistance to chlorides, acids and salts compared with V2A (1.4301/AISI 304), making it ideal for fruit syrups and acidic cleaning solutions.

Do B&K Group drains meet hygiene requirements for the beverage industry?

Yes. Our stainless steel products hold PZH approval and support HACCP compliance. B&K Group is an EHEDG member, confirming hygienic design for food and beverage processing plants.

How to ensure high drainage capacity under large volumes of wash water?

We use slot channels with 8–20 mm openings that handle high flow rates while maintaining hygiene. Channel width and floor drain load class are selected according to expected runoff. More information on drainage channels is available at drainage channels.

Which floor finishes work with drains in bottling halls?

We supply resin floors: epoxy and polyurethane-cement Ucrete, resistant up to 120°C. They perform well where hot water, sugars and acids are present. The floor is joined seamlessly to the drain to ensure correct falls and easy cleaning.

What load classes do floor drains and channels withstand in forklift traffic zones?

Drains are available in load classes B125 to F900, suitable for pedestrian areas as well as forklift and vehicle traffic. All components are fabricated from stainless steel using TIG/MIG welding for durable, watertight joints.

How do you confirm material quality and origin for drainage products?

On request we supply 3.1 mill certificates according to EN 10204, verifying steel composition and properties. Combined with PZH approval this ensures full traceability of materials in contact with water and process media.
